“Thani Humanitarian” launches the “Ghaf” project

The Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation announced the launch of the “Ghaf” project for training, consulting, and sustainable development. This significant step aims to develop charitable and developmental work and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the non-profit sector in Qatar by building capacity and raising the professional readiness of those working in this field. The “Ghaf” project serves as a specialized center for training, qualification, and consulting, targeting the support of the charitable and developmental sector through developmental programs for non-profit associations and institutions and their employees. It also provides empowerment and support pathways for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), empowers families and women in need, and opens marketing channels through physical and online charitable markets for family products and other goods.
The Ghaf project aims to support the charitable and developmental sector through developmental programs for associations, institutions, and their employees.
Investing in People
On this occasion, Dr. Hamza Al-Dosari, Director of Ghaf, affirmed that the project embodies the organization's vision of investing in people as the starting point for any sustainable impact. This is achieved through specialized training and consulting programs that enhance the efficiency of those working in the charitable sector and support the development of institutions and initiatives from the idea stage to a viable and measurable operational model. The project also opens practical avenues for empowering families and women in need and marketing their products through physical and digital channels, thereby strengthening economic independence and serving community development.
Al-Dosari added that the project aims to be a professional resource and training hub for the non-profit sector, keeping pace with its growing needs and providing practical solutions in the areas of management, planning, and performance development. This, in turn, will improve the quality of initiatives and their effectiveness in impacting society. Enhancing Efficiency and Improving Performance
He explained that the Ghaf Al Khair Center for Training, Consulting, and Sustainable Development project represents the culmination of a vision, dedicated effort, and a deep belief in the role of organized social work in building communities. He added that launching this project comes in response to a genuine and pressing need within the charitable and social sector in Qatar, given the expansion of charitable activities and their growing roles. This necessitates capacity building, increased efficiency, and improved institutional performance to ensure sustainability, good governance, and effective societal impact.
Dr. Al-Dosari continued: “From the planning stage, we were keen to ensure that the project’s objectives aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 and were consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of quality education, decent work, and building effective partnerships. We firmly believe that true development can only be achieved through integrated efforts and unified approaches.”
A Qualitative Shift
He pointed out that the Ghaf project is not limited to training alone, but rather seeks to bring about a qualitative shift in the concept of charitable work by developing the professional competencies of those working in charitable associations and institutions, empowering these institutions to build their institutional and administrative capacities, disseminating best practices locally and internationally, and encouraging innovation and excellence in social and developmental work. He noted that all proceeds from the center's activities will be dedicated to supporting the charitable and non-profit sector, thereby enhancing its sustainability and amplifying its impact on society.
He expressed his gratitude to all the supporting entities and partners who believed in the importance of this project and contributed to transforming it from an idea into reality, as well as to the work teams that exerted great effort in preparation, planning, and implementation. He emphasized the project management's commitment to working with transparency, professionalism, and open cooperation with all partners and the media, believing that true success is that which has a positive impact on individuals and society.
The foundation affirmed that the launch of the “Ghaf” project comes within its strategic vision aimed at developing and advancing charitable and developmental work towards a more efficient and sustainable institutional model, through capacity building, raising professional readiness and enhancing governance, which contributes to maximizing social impact, supporting the continuity of initiatives, and achieving deeper and more organized community development.
