Thani Humanitarian Launches “Sanad” Initiative

As part of its ongoing mission to promote humanitarian work and instill the values of solidarity and community care, the Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation continues to implement impactful initiatives that support various segments of society. The "Sanad" project, which provides water and care for workers, is a pioneering initiative that combines social welfare with water provision. Its aim is to improve the quality of life for low-income workers in Qatar and create a direct and sustainable humanitarian impact that reflects the values of giving and social cohesion. The "Sanad" project embodies a conscious humanitarian vision based on understanding the daily needs of a broad segment of workers and providing regular support mechanisms that enhance their living and health stability. It also contributes to supporting individuals' ability to continue contributing in various work environments, within a framework that preserves human dignity and appreciates the effort made in serving the community.
Engineer Abdul Hakim Al Hashemi, Director of the “Sanad” project, stated that the project stems from the Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation’s belief that impactful humanitarian work begins with being close to people and meeting their basic needs, especially those of workers who contribute their efforts to the development process and deserve initiatives that support them and enhance their sense of appreciation and respect.
He explained that the project idea arose from a realistic assessment of the daily lives of workers and the supportive initiatives required to enhance their comfort and public health, and to provide essential resources that meet work demands and support their quality of life in various work locations.
Al Hashemi pointed out that the “Sanad” project is based on two main integrated tracks. The first involves social welfare through the provision of regular in-kind support, including food vouchers and basic clothing, in cooperation with shopping malls. This contributes to meeting the basic needs of beneficiaries and enhances their sense of stability and community support. The second track focuses on providing workers with cold water. This is achieved by distributing water-supply kits and transporting them to worker gathering points and various work areas using dedicated vehicles. This initiative reflects the project's commitment to supporting public health and reviving the tradition of providing water as a noble humanitarian act with a direct social impact.
He emphasized that this integration gives the project a comprehensive humanitarian dimension, combining health and livelihood aspects. It embodies a social message that fosters a spirit of shared responsibility and contributes to establishing a culture of caring for diverse segments of society as an integral part of the comprehensive development system.
The project manager explained that preserving the dignity of beneficiaries is a fundamental pillar in all stages of implementation. Meticulous verification mechanisms are employed to ensure that support reaches those who deserve it, along with distribution methods that respect privacy and promote mutual respect.
He also noted the ongoing coordination with relevant authorities and the activation of qualified field teams. This ensures efficient implementation, transparent procedures, and enhances the effectiveness of fieldwork, which is essential for the project's success and the achievement of its humanitarian goals. The “Sanad” project targets a large number of workers within the State of Qatar through a well-organized distribution plan covering various regions, with particular attention to labor camps and vital sites. It also reaches remote areas via equipped field teams and a distribution system that adheres to the highest standards of quality and safety.
The project is expected to contribute to enhancing the public health, living conditions, and psychological well-being of workers, supporting their ability to contribute and be productive. This will positively impact the work environment and society as a whole, strengthening human bonds among its members.
In closing, Engineer Abdul Hakim Al-Hashemi called upon the community and philanthropists to support the “Sanad” project and contribute to its continuation. He emphasized that humanitarian work is a shared responsibility and that every contribution can make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
He affirmed that the project aspires to build a sustainable model for the welfare of the working class through continuous implementation, developing tools, and expanding its scope to meet evolving needs. This will be coupled with raising community awareness of the importance of social responsibility as a fundamental pillar of balanced development. The “Sanad” project embodies an advanced model of local humanitarian work, combining organization, sustainability and direct humanitarian impact, and affirms that human care remains the core of any successful development initiative.
